Abstract

Introduction: Sexually transmitted infections known as an acronym STI are pathological processes arising from physical contact that is close between men and women through transmission through sexual contact. Sexually transmitted diseases, involving the transmission of an organism between sexual partners through various mechanisms of sexual contact, both oral, anal or vaginal. It is based on data according to the indication that, in the confirmed cases of syphilis in men Ministry of Health in Timor-Leste in the year 2023, in the National territory total 10,514 of the total number of cases of patients in positive 171 cases. Area of the Administrative Post Ainaro Village is 235 km composed of 7 Sucos 32 Villages and number of families 6748 inhabitants. Border with East Hatoudo Administrative Post, West with Bobonaro Municipality, North with Hatubuilico Administrative Post and South with Zumalai Administrative Post of Suai Covalima Municipality.

Research Objective: To know the students' knowledge about the importance of syphilis prevention. 

Research Methodology: This research method is quantitative, descriptive, probability sampling technique of the simple random sampling technical type with simple random way. The student population has 149 samples. Technical data collection is the questionnaire instrument.

Result Discussion: The percentage of age characteristics shows that most of the categories aged 14-15 years have a percentage of female majority with frequency 89 (59.7%) and female minority with frequency 60 (40.3%).

Conclusion: it shows that the knowledge of 149 respondents with the category majority least knew the frequency 69 (46.3%) and minority good category with frequency 23 (15.4%), according to research realization by (Tilman CB., et al, 2026).
